JOANN'S STORY

A devoted mentor, ministry leader, and lifelong advocate for women and families, she has dedicated her life to serving others with compassion, wisdom, and faith. A passionate leader in her church community, she serves as the Flourish Women’s Ministry Leader, helping women grow in their faith and discover the fullness of who God has called them to be. Through teaching, serving, events, and one-on-one relationship building, she fosters an environment where women can find encouragement, connection, and spiritual support.
A longtime member of Faith Christian Center in Seekonk, Massachusetts, she serves as an elder alongside her husband, Gary. Together, they have shared their lives with four children—two now deceased—and are blessed with six beautiful grandchildren. Over the years, she has faithfully served in many ministries within the church, continually sharing the love of Christ with her brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Her service continues in the community through the Brown University Health Community Health Institute Mentoring Program, where she is committed to mentorship. In this volunteer role, she mentored local high school students exploring careers in healthcare, meeting with them monthly throughout their junior and senior years. She helps them build academic confidence, career readiness, and life skills—investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Professionally, she built a successful career in the healthcare industry, serving as a Finance Manager in several hospitals across Rhode Island. She holds an MBA in International Business from Johnson & Wales University and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Providence College.
